Carpooling options are available to students, faculty and staff.

The benefits of carpooling include cost savings on gas and parking permits, improved parking options, free daily parking permits for individuals who need to drive separately.

Student Carpool Program

NC State students who participate in the carpool program can enjoy carpooling benefits and gain access to premium parking areas.

The Transportation office requires at least two commuter students to form a carpool. All registered carpool participants must show proof of vehicle registration and a local address.

Costs?
$200 per semester for two (2) or more carpool students.

Where are the parking areas?
Permit allows parking in these specific parking locations: Coliseum (CD), Dan Allen (DD), West Deck (W) Partners Way, MRC, Toxicology and CBC Decks (CC), as well as F (Fringe lots) and V (Varsity Lot).

When and how do I apply?
Apply online beginning July 9, 2018

Student carpool applications for Fall 2018 are now closed. Permits will be virtual and your license plate validates your parking credential. Applications will be processed on a first come-first served basis.

Employee Carpool Program

The NC State carpool program allows two or more faculty and/or staff members parking. Temporary employees are NOT eligible to participate in the carpooling program.

Carpool: At least two permanent NC State Employees are needed to form a carpool.

Costs
$369 for two (2) or more carpool employees per academic year. In a two-person carpool, each participant is payroll deducted $15.38 per month.

When and how do I apply?
Employees carpool applications are accepted at any time. Carpool runs per academic year and applications must be completed each year beginning in July.
