Vanpooling
NC State, in conjunction with Triangle
Transit(formally TTA), offers a vanpool service for commuters.
Vanpools are started with 7 riders, of which one volunteers to drive
the van. The cost for vanpooling is economical because the driver
is not paid but is one of the commuting members. The primary driver
rides FREE and receives a designated number of free monthly miles
to drive the van for personal use. Vanpoolers receive 24 FREE daily
parking permits annually. These passes can be used for parking on
campus on days that a member must bring his or her own vehicle.
Additional daily permits can be purchased for only $6 each.
The Advantages of Vanpooling:
- A $15 monthly subsidy for each rider
- 24 FREE daily permits per NCSU passenger (prorated annually)
- TTA vans park on campus for FREE
- Reduces air pollution
- Reduces wear & tear on personal vehicles
- Relaxing, fun ride to work
- Emergency Ride Home Assistance
