The growing need for sustainable decision making in our world brings with it many new
challenges. Among these challenges is changing the way people commute. Bicycle
commuting is an easy alternative to driving alone, but it is a choice many people still opt
not to make. One of the most common deterrents people cite for adopting a bike
commute is the lack of hybrid attire available for cyclist/professionals.
Developing clothing which can make transitions between the bicycle, the office, and
evening events, while still keeping the wearer comfortable, stylish and visible, is a key link
to incorporating sustainable transportation into our daily lives. Project Bikeway showcases the skill and ingenuity of local designers in helping to forge this link.
The Project Bikeway Showcase will be held at the Bike to Work Month 2011 Kick-Off Event on Saturday May 7th in City Plaza in Downtown Raleigh.
The Kick-Off event will run from 12pm-3pm, with Project Bikeway showcases at 12:30pm and 2:00pm. Designers will be present at the event and available for discussion after the 2nd showcase.
