Wolfline Inclement Weather Plan - Always Check the TVS System for Service Announcements

For the latest information on weather conditions impacting Wolfline service, please check TVS announcements at the TVS link above (or join Wolfline listserv. - Join a Listserv directions in the left-hand column of this page) or friend Wolfline Facebook). Each weather event is different, but following are some general adverse weather guidelines.

  • If class start times are delayed, Wolfline service begins 1 hour prior to class start.
  • Classes end early; Wolfline attempts to continue service for 2 hrs. after classes end.
  • University is open, but all classes are cancelled - Wolfline operates normal faculty/staff service - Rt. 6, Rt. 7, and Rt. 8.
  • Classes are cancelled, University remains open BUT operating under Adverse Weather conditions; Wolfline will attempt to operate one bus route which essentially connects the two libraries. No set schedule or route. This Adverse Weather Route will appear on the TVS system.
  • University is CLOSED; no Wolfline service.

Safety is the most important factor in determining whether or not Wolfline operates. If weather conditions change quickly and it becomes unsafe to run buses, service will stop immediately. Please stay informed and be prepared. Thanks for riding Wolfline!

Wolfline Transit System

Wolfline is NC State's bus service which is tailored to student class schedules, but also serves the general public fare-free. Wolfline buses operate every day classes are in session, serving all three campuses, three park & ride lots, official NCSU housing and privately-owned apartment complexes located on city streets traveled by Wolfline buses on the way to or from these areas.

No university ID, pass, or fare is required to ride! Buses are red and white and black with the Wolfline logo lettering.

Wolfline buses travel along designated routes and only stop at designated, marked Wolfline stops; some of which are shared stops with city (CAT) and regional (TT) transit providers. A few routes are designated as "limited stop;" please review the Wolfline online routes and timetables.

Wolfline provides bus service:

  • for students, staff and faculty after they arrive on Main Campus.
  • for students, staff and faculty who do not have parking permits and use Wolfline park & ride lots.
  • for students, staff and faculty who travel between campuses (Centennial Campus and the Centennial Biomedical Campus - College of Veterinary Medicine).
  • for students who live in official University Housing.
  • for the general public living/commuting along Wolfline routes.

Schedules are designed to make the most efficient use of resources and to create a reliable and convenient service. Call 515-WOLF or email us with your suggestions! Adjustments to routes and schedules are normally made at semester change.
