What is GoPass?

GoPass is a free student bus pass sponsored by NCSU Transportation which allows NC State students to ride city Capital Area Transit (CAT) and regional buses Triangle Transit (TT) free of charge; NC State Faculty/Staff pay a $25 pre-paid annual fee. Use your GoPass to travel the Triangle - commute to campus, get to the airport or even visit your friends at that "other" university in Chapel Hill!

You don't need anything to ride NC State's Wolfline buses.

  • You only need a GoPass to use city and regional transit service.
  • Passes are renewed annually.
  • 2013/14 pass is valid from August 4, 2013 - August 3, 2014.
  • GoPasses are non-transferable; only valid for assignee on record with NCSU Transportation.

How do I get a GoPass?

Bring your student I.D. and come to the Transportation Office, Admin. I Building, 2721 Sullivan Drive between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Your pass will be processed while you wait. The Admin. I Building is served by Rt. 2 Hillsborough Shuttle and Rt. 7 Wolfline Shuttle.

Faculty/Staff and Centennial Campus affiliates may obtain their pass by visiting the Transportation office. Faculty/Staff GoPass is offered for an annual $25 pre-paid fee - major credit cards accepted ($25 charge equates to about 5 - 12 round-trip rides on CAT or TT). A great value!

How do I use my GoPass?

First, visit to plan your trip (figure out which bus to ride and when and where to pick it up.) Also check out GoTriangle's How to Ride Guide for helpful videos.

Every CAT and Triangle Transit bus has an electronic farebox located next to the driver at the front of the bus. Swipe your GoPass through the top of the fare box. Check out GoTriangle's "Paying the Fare" video for visual instructions.
