Planning
Sharrows
A sharrow is a "share the road arrow" that is
placed directly on pavement. NCSU Transportation is conducting a
pilot treatment of the sharrow on several campus streets.
Sharrows help:
- Encourage bicyclists to ride in the correct direction of the
street.
- Educate motorists to expect bicyclists on the roadway.
- Show bicyclists how to position themselves in the lane with
respect to the curb or parked cars to avoid hazards.

Campus Paths Planning
Campus Paths provide universal access throughout the campuses;
include greenways, pedestrian walkways, roads, commuter rail lines,
and bus routes.
The Campus Paths Implementation
Program seeks to examine, explore and recommend strategies for
both short and long-term improvements.
As the campus population increases, improvements are a must. Construction
affects parking and roads.ways in many areas. Stay informed about
current and upcoming projects
to make your parking and travel through campus as smooth as possible.
PUBS (Peer University Benchmarking Study)
To further our improvement planning and operations assessments,
we conducted a Peer
University Benchmarking Study (PUBS) which was completed in
2006.
