Visitor Parking

Welcome

A campus visitor is anyone who is not a current student or employee. Contractors, sales and service personnel, event attendees, workshop participants, seminar attendees, citizens fishing from the Centennial Campus fishing pier, recruiters, friends and family coming to see students or employees are considered visitors.

What are the parking options for visitors?

Visitors may purchase a daily permit at the Transportation office for $10. Permits are specific to certain areas of campus and are not valid in visitor pay lots.

Departments that invite guests to campus may find guest parking information here.

Visitors may also use one of the designated visitor pay lots located throughout campus. Hourly rates apply.

What is the cost?

Gated Visitor Pay Spaces - pay on exit

  • $2 for first hour, or any portion
  • $1 for each additional half hour
  • $10 daily rate
  • $20 lost ticket fee

Non Gated Visitor Pay Spaces - pay when parked

  • $2 for first hour, or any portion
  • $1 for each additional half hour
  • $10 daily rate

Where can I get visitor parking information on campus?

Main Campus Booth:
Stinson Drive off the Pullen Road roundabout.
7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Visitor booth staff will provide directions and a map which shows valid parking spaces. No permits are sold or issued from this location.

 

Transportation Office NCSU Transportation Office:
2721 Sullivan Drive. 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Tip: For fishing pier parking, park in marked spaces only. Overflow parking is located at the MRC deck. Visitor permit required 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Accessible / Handicap Visitor Permits

Visitors with a state-issued accessible / handicap placard need to purchase and display a visitor permit. The visitor permit allows close proximity. The permit issued is valid in any shared accessible space, as well as any unreserved campus parking space.

Campus Tours

Campus tours are conducted from the E. Carroll Joyner Visitor Center located at 1210 Varsity Drive at the intersection of Western Boulevard and Varsity Drive.

Do you ticket visitors parked in permit areas?

Parking permits are enforced from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday except on Official University Holidays. Please pay close attention to signs as some lots have extended enforcement hours. Visitor permits are not valid in pay lots.

This is primarily a walking campus. Posted speed limit is 25 miles per hour on most campus streets. Speed limits are strictly enforced.

Special permits are required for loading/unloading and events.

As well, Summer is the time of the year when we pave roads, resurface parking lots and attempt to complete as many maintenance projects as possible since we have fewer students and generally less activity on campus.
