Online Permit Sale

The online permit sale for academic year 2013/2014 permits has begun.

When do I buy a permit? Academic Year 2014/2015 online permit sale begins:

  • July 8 at 10 a.m. for graduate students

  • July 10 at 8 a.m. for students with 90 credit hours

  • July 14 at 8 a.m. for students with at least 60 credits

  • July 16 at 8 a.m. for students with at least 45 credits
  • July 18 at 8 a.m. for students with at least 30 credits
  • July 22 at 8 a.m. OPEN SALE - FRESHMEN

 

Permits are sold on a first-come, first-served basis until they are sold out. After purchase, permits are mailed to the address specified (student's home address) prior to the start of fall classes. Sales are based on credit hours; students with higher credit hours have more permit options. Students must be assigned a nine-digit student ID.

What permit do I buy?
The chart below explains what permits are available, eligibility, and cost. Most commuter students will not be able to purchase deck permits until they are seniors, but will have other parking options including perimeter lots and transit.

If you want to bring a car to campus, purchase the permit for which you're eligible now!
After all available permits are sold, waitlists automatically open. Waitlists are used in case any permits are returned or parking space becomes available.You must meet the permit eligibility criteria listed below. Transportation communicates via a student's university email account.

RC - Resident Centennial

Definition: Resident permit for students living in Wolf Ridge at Centennial.

Eligibility: Room assignment at Wolf Ridge at Centennial.

Enforcement: Spaces are sold one for one, but are not reserved spaces. RC permit is required from 7 a.m. to Midnight, Monday thru Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. RC permits are only valid in the RC resident area.

 

RE – Resident East

Definition: Resident permit for students living in North, Syme, Welch, Turlington, Tucker, Watauga, Berry, Becton, Bagwell, Wood, Carroll, Metcalf and Bowen Halls.

Eligibility: Minimum of 12 credit hours (completed coursework) at end of Spring Semester and room assignment in one of the residence halls listed above. Supply is limited; permits are sold on a first-come basis.

Enforcement: Spaces are sold one for one, but are not reserved spaces. RE permit is required from 7 a.m. to Midnight, Monday thru Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. RE permits are only valid in the RE resident area.

 

RW – Resident West

Definition: Resident permit for students living in Bragaw, Lee, Sullivan, Carroll, Metcalf and Bowen Halls.

Eligibility: Minimum of 12 credit hours (completed coursework) at end of Spring Semester and room assignment in one of the residence halls listed above. Supply is limited; sold on a first-come basis.

Enforcement: Spaces are sold one for one, but are not reserved spaces. RW permit is required from 7 a.m. to Midnight, Monday thru Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. RW permits are only valid in the RW area.

 

RP – Resident Perimeter

Definition: Resident permit for students living in North, Syme, Welch, Turlington, Tucker, Watauga, Berry, Becton, Bagwell, Carroll, Metcalf, Bowen, Wood, Lee, Sullivan and Bragaw Halls.

Eligibility: Room assignment in one of the residence halls listed above; no minimum credit hours necessary for purchase.

Enforcement: The RP parking area is the surface parking lot near the West Deck (access from Sullivan Drive) and is sold one for one, but no spaces are reserved. RP is permit required from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. RP permits are only valid in the RP area.

RS – Resident Storage

Definition: Parking option for resident freshmen who either don't qualify for other resident permits (RE, RW) or other resident permit options (RP) are sold out. Location information from Google Maps.

Eligibility: Room assignment in University Housing and registered for Fall, 2011 classes; no minimum credit hours necessary for purchase.

Enforcement: RS lot is located on Centennial Campus and served by Wolfline bus service; not intended for daily vehicle access. Students may bring vehicles to main campus after 5 p.m. Friday, but must return vehicles to the RS lot by 7 a.m. Monday. RS lot is enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday.

 

CD –Coliseum Deck Commuters

Definition: CD permit allows parking in the Coliseum Deck (bordered by Cates, Dunn, Jeter and Jensen) and the attached surface lot off Cates Avenue. Parking allowed in other university decks (Dan Allen, West, Monteith Research Center – MRC, Partners Way, Toxicology and Centennial Biomedical Campus) after 3 p.m..

Eligibility: Commuter students must have a minimum of 75 credit hours (completed coursework) at end of Spring Semester and live off-campus to be eligible to purchase. Permit quantities are limited and sold on a first-come basis.

Enforcement: The CD parking area is enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. CD permits are only valid in the CD area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but may park in other university decks listed above after 3 p.m.

 

DD – Dan Allen Deck Commuters

Definition: DD permit allows parking in the Dan Allen Deck located west of Dan Allen Drive and North of Yarbrough Extension. Parking allowed in other university decks (Coliseum, West, Monteith Research Center – MRC, Partners Way, Toxicology and Centennial Biomedical Campus) after 3 p.m.

Eligibility: Commuter students must have a minimum of 100 credit hours (completed coursework) at end of Spring Semester and housed off campus. Permit quantities are limited and sold on a first-come basis.

Enforcement: DD parking area is enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. DD permits are valid in other university decks (listed above) after 3 p.m.

 

CC –Centennial Campus Decks and Biomedical Campus Decks/ Lots Commuters

Definition: CC permit allows parking in the Partners Way/Monteith Research Center Decks on Centennial Campus or the Centennial Biomedical Campus, Method Rd. Complex, and Varsity Research Building. Parking is also allowed after 3 p.m. in the Coliseum/Dan Allen/West Decks on main campus.

Eligibility: Students must have a minimum of 60 credit hours (completed course work) at end of Spring Semester and housed off campus. Permits quantities are limited and sold on a first-come basis.

Enforcement: CC parking areas are enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. CC permits are only valid in CC areas from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but may park in other university decks (Coliseum/Dan Allen) after 3 p.m.

 

W – West Deck Commuters

Definition: W permit allows parking in the West Deck located near Sullivan and Varsity Drives; enter off Varsity Drive.

Eligibility: Students must have a minimum of 30 credit hours (completed course work) at end of Spring Semester and housed off campus. Permit quantities are limited and are sold on a first-come basis.

Enforcement: W parking area is enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. W permit is only valid in the “W” parking area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., but after 3 p.m. may park in other university decks (Dan Allen, Coliseum, Monteith Research Center – MRC, Partners Way, Toxicology and Centennial Biomedical Campus)

 

V – Varsity Commuter

Definition: Low-cost commuter park and ride permit; park on campus property and ride Wolfline to Main or Centennial Campus. Lot is located between Gorman Street and Varsity Drive, south of Western Boulevard.

Eligibility: Commuters must be enrolled to purchase this permit. No credit hours are required.

Enforcement : The “V” parking area is enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday.

 

P – Perimeter Parking

Definition: Parking permit for residents of perimeter University Housing and campus commuters.

Eligibility: Residents must have a Wolf Village, ES King, Greek Village, Western Manor or Avent Ferry room assignment at time of purchase. Commuters must have a minimum of 24 credit hours (completed coursework) at end of Spring Semester..

Enforcement : The “P” parking areas are enforced from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday.

 

L1 (Fall) L2 (Spring) – Off Peak Hour Commuter Permit

Definition: Commuter permit that allows parking between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Coliseum, Dan Allen, West, Partners Way, Monteith Research Center, and Centennial Biomedical Campus parking decks or the West Lot.

Eligibility: Student must be enrolled in the university to purchase permit. No credit hours are required.
