Student Parking Permits
Parking Permits are required from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. (most
areas - check signs) - Purchase Permit
Display the appropriate parking area permit on the bottom
of the passenger-side windshield; unless parked at an activated
parking meter or in a hourly pay lot.
Parking permits are the property of Transportation. Parking
permits, replacement permits and/or temporary permits may not be
given, traded, sold, or borrowed. The permitholder on record
is responsible for any violations.
Parking Permits
Permits are available for open sale
beginning in early July. Nine-digit student ID is necessary to complete
the purchase process. Be sure to have your current vehicle information
on hand. Commuter students with similiar class schedules can purchase a student carpool permit and split the cost of the permit.
Parking permits are sold based on:
1) number of credits and
2) availability of parking spaces
Freshmen may purchase permits/bring vehicles to campus
Resident freshmen may purchase a resident storage or resident perimeter permit;
commuting freshmen may purchase Varsity Lot commuter parking. The
resident storage permit is not recommended for students who require
quick access to their vehicles; i.e., off campus jobs, but for students
who want access to their vehicles on weekends or trips home.
Once your purchase is complete, your permit will be mailed to the
address you specify at the time of purchase.
Please note: Demand
exceeds parking space. Not everyone will be able to purchase a parking
permit - investigate other parking options (commuters - Wolfline/park
and ride ; residents - Zipcar - car sharing; Zimride - ridesharing, private parking providers.)
Summer Parking Permits
Summer permits are
available for online
sale beginning the first Monday in May. They are prorated
and valid for the entire summer (remainder of the academic year
- mid August). Transportation does not sell permits for each summer
session.
Greek Village Permits
Students who are members of a fraternity or sorority
at Greek Village may purchase a P permit online in July.
Safety Concerns
Are our parking lots "safe?" Statistically, campus has relatively
low crime - most crimes are "crimes of opportunity." Our
parking lots are well lighted and campus is patrolled by our campus
police. You can reduce your risk by ALWAYS locking your vehicle
and not leaving any valuable items in plain sight. If you must leave
valuables in your vehicle, lock them in the trunk.
Parking Permit Refund
Graduating in December? Student permits are refunded on a prorated basis and must be returned to the Transportation office
located at 2721
Sullivan Drive, Administrative Services I. Please allow three to
four business weeks to process and receive your refund check.
