Parking Information for Freshmen/New Students

Freshmen Can Apply - What permit should I request?

Resident and commuting freshmen are eligible to register for a university-issued parking permit. Permits are assigned based on class seniority and space availability. (All permits are assigned through an online registration process accessed through MyPack Portal during class registration, or through the Transportation Web site at other times.)

Upperclassmen Are Given Preference
Although commuting and resident freshmen are eligible to register for a permit, they are only available after the upperclassmen demand has been met. With construction impacts, some areas of campus offer fewer resident permits; it's dependent on parking availability in the area of campus where students are housed. All students who have been assigned permits will be notified via their email address on file with Registration & Records.

Freshmen are strongly encouraged to join the Packparking Listserv for the latest news and information about parking permits, construction projects, road closures, bus detours and more. Students should also familiarize themselves with Wolfline transit information; this is an excellent option for students versus purchasing a parking permit.

Freshmen may also contact the off-campus private lots for parking near the university. These private lots are not affiliated with the University.
