Employee Parking
Any vehicle parked on campus must display the appropriate parking permit for that space, unless parked at an activated parking meter or in an hourly pay lot. Permits must be displayed on the bottom of the passenger-side windshield of the vehicle.
The person registered for the permit is responsible for all violations
issued to all vehicles displaying the permit. Parking permits remain
the property of Transportation. Parking
permits, replacement permits and/or temporary permits may not be
given, traded, sold, or borrowed.
The NC State carpool program allows two or more faculty and/or staff members parking for only $7 a month per rider in B, C, CC, CD, DD, W, V and P zones. This is a great way to save money and access desirable parking.
Employee Parking Permit Renewals
Employee parking permits are valid for three years with payroll deductions automatically
extended. Permits are mailed to the employee's home address on record with Human Resources. If the employee's work location changes, i.e., transfer to a zone other than "C," the employee may contact Transportation and request to be placed on the "B" waitlist in the event a permit becomes available in this zone.
Employees who purchase parking permits annually due
to specific employment circumstances are given the opportunity in
the summer of each year to renew their parking permit for the next
academic year. Permits are renewed for the same type of permit unless
one of the following conditions occur:
- The individual is no longer employed by the University, per
payroll.
- The employee may be on an unpaid leave of absence.
- The employee may request a different parking zone if their primary
work location has change to that new requested zone.
