Motorist Assist Program

Vehicles that break down or become disabled while on NC State property must be reported to Campus Police at 515-3000 and/or Transportation at 515-2210. Inoperable/disabled vehicles left in driving lanes, driveways, blocking vehicles or other "No Parking" areas are subject to being towed and fined. The owner/driver of the inoperable/disabled vehicle should move the disabled vehicle to the nearest unreserved, designated parking space and obtain the proper permit from Transportation immediately.

Jump Starts

Transportation offers jump starts to individuals needing assistance with weak or dead batteries. Persons needing jump starts can contact Transportation at 515-2210. Hours are 8 a.m. - 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This service is also provided through Campus Police at 515-3333.

Drivers of vehicles needing jump starts should raise the hood of their vehicle to help identify their vehicle. Also, the driver of the vehicle needing a jump start must have a valid driver's license or picture ID.

In order to have your vehicle jump started, a Liability Release Form must be completed and signed by the driver of the vehicle being jump started and by the officer providing assistance.
