Event Parking
Events, camps and conferences may
reoccur year to year and become an integral part of the campus environment.
Transportation will make every effort to accommodate parking requests
for the university community.
All event parking and traffic operations requests are to be coordinated
through the Transportation office. Permits are available for $2
per vehicle, per day. Parking may be limited to specific areas based
on the time of year, other events, construction projects, and additional
factors. Transportation cannot guarantee space will be available
on the day and time requested.
To ensure arrangements can be made for parking and traffic,
requests should be submitted to the Transportation office at least
30 days before the planned event. Last minute events do occasionally
occur. Please make every attempt to notify the Transportation office
of the event at least 7 days before the event. You can submit an
event parking request online,
or by contacting Carl Mcgill,
Sr. at 515-1600. You will receive a reply within 5 business
days.
Parking permits are enforced on all of the NC State
campuses from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The resident
student parking zones ("DE", "DW") are enforced 7a.m. to Midnight,
Monday through Thursday; and 7am to 5pm on Friday. Areas designated
as "No Parking," reserved, or handicapped (accessible) will be enforced
at all times.
Loading and Unloading
Loading and unloading may be arranged for short durations
close to the site. Vehicles will be required to move to the appropriate
parking location upon completion of the loading or unloading of
materials.
Parking for Large Events
Typically large events occur after the normal business
day is over or on weekends. Requests for these events must be submitted
as early as possible to accomodate for additional parking and traffic
planning.
Lots Used for Event Parking
The following parking lots are commonly used for event
parking. However, other lots or parking areas may be used depending
on the event, time of year, construction projects, etc.
- Centennial Campus
- Coliseum Parking Deck
- Coliseum Surface Lot*
Located on Cates Avenue (across from Derr Track).
- Dan Allen Parking Deck
Located on Dan Allen Drive, just south of Hillsborough Street.
**This lot is the primary
parking for buses involved with special event activities. Please
pay close attention to signage and/or traffic cones, times, etc.,
as often buses come in late in the day and cars may be inadvertently
blocked in.
