Parking Violation Petitions
File Petitions Online
Submit any supporting documentation - diagrams, permits, etc., including
your name and citation number to the Transportation Office. Complete
and submit the Online Petition Form.
No Computer Access?
A computer is available for your use from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, Transportation Office, Administrative Services
I, 2721 Sullivan Drive.
Petitions Must Include
Name, Student ID Number, Employee Payroll Number, or Personal Identification
Number, University Status (student, staff, faculty, vendor or visitor);
Phone Number, Mailing address, Citation number, reason for petition
and any supporting documentation. Incomplete petitions are
not processed.
Petition Filing Deadline is 14 Days from Date
of Ticket
Supporting documentation must also be received within 14 days of
date of ticket. You may drop supporting documentation off at the
Transportation office, mail, or electronically scan and submit online.
Late petitions are not processed.
Payment of Fines
Payment of a citation fine is not
required prior to submitting a petition.
(All fine amounts must be paid prior to an appeal for a denied
or reduced petition being accepted for review). Appeals must
be received within 14 calendar days of the date
the petition decision was made. Appeal a decision
via email and/or letter.
Vehicle Immobilization (i.e., boot)
These types of petitions require full payment of all fines before
processing. The 14-day calendar deadline applies - petitions not
received within the specified period will not be eligible for review,
and all petition/appeal rights will be forfeited.
Petition Timeline
Expect a decision within 10 to 14 calendar days. Correspondence
will be sent to the address or email address provided by you on
the petition form. If the petition is not granted, or the fine is
reduced, you must pay the amount specified.
Responsibility
The vehicle owner is responsible for all citations issued to
the vehicle. Vehicle owners and operators are responsible for understanding
and abiding by NCSU
parking regulations.
