Important Announcement

2009/2010 Parking Changes

Parking permits are now more area specific. Previously, some student deck permits were valid in decks on main campus as well as Centennial Campus. Effective August 19, student permits are deck specific until 3 p.m. After 3 p.m., CD, DD and CC permits are valid in the Coliseum Deck, Dan Allen Deck or any university-owned Centennial Campus parking deck.

Please note: No impact on Faculty/Staff Coliseum Deck permits (DC); faculty/staff DC permits are still valid in the Partners Way Deck on Centennial Campus.

Why change the policy?

  • To support university-wide (green) sustainable policies.

  • Cross parking (allowing vehicles to flow between several parking areas) is not efficient management of parking space because parking areas must be undersold on all campuses to allow for back and forth traffic between areas. Not fully utilizing all parking space can increase the cost of parking.

  • Policies that encourage single occupancy vehicle use also increase traffic congestion and reduce Wolfline's ability to maintain schedules.

  • P - Perimeter Parking (formerly F Permit)
Parking permits for residents of perimeter university-owned housing (including Western Manor, Avent Ferry Complex, Greek Village, E.S. King Village and Wolf Village) and Centennial Campus Commuters; allows parking in designated P (perimeter) areas only.

  • Greek Village - designated as "P" parking; no cross parking between Greek Village and core campus commuter permits, i.e., CD, DD, RE and RW permits are not valid to park at Greek Village until after 5 p.m. Greek participants are encouraged to use Wolfline for daytime travel to and from the Greek Village area (Rt. 9 Greek Village).

  • Paylot Rate Change - Dan Allen Deck and Coliseum Deck paylot rates have changed - $2 for 1st hr., $1 per hr. for each additional hour; $6 daily maximum.

  • Dan Allen Deck Self Pay Machines - Paylot will reopen prior to the start of the school year with new credit card only self pay machines which enable users to pay for the exact amount of time used. Pull ticket, pay upon return (15-minute grace period to pay for parking and exit). The paid parking receipt opens the exit gate.
  • Faculty/Staff Reminder - Summer relaxed parking rules for resident areas end Wednesday, August 19. Resident East (RE - east campus) and Resident West (RW - west campus) permits are required for resident parking areas.

Thanks for your cooperation with these parking changes. Transportation appreciates your support of our efforts to effectively manage our parking resources, contain costs, and offer parking to as many customers as possible.
