RENTAL VEHICLE ALERT - GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE

RENTAL VEHICLES – When renting vehicles for University business, you should inspect the vehicle thoroughly for any prior, existing physical damage inside and out and bring it to the rental agency’s attention before driving it off their premises. Usually there is a form or check list that the rental agency provides for this purpose. When returning the car, check it again for any physical damage. You may be responsible for damages not previously noted and agreed upon by the rental agency. If your vehicle has been damaged while in your possession, let the rental agency know immediately and follow their instructions for reporting the damage and filing a claim. Obtain a copy of the claim and forward it to the NCSU Insurance and Risk Mgt. Office, Box 7521, Raleigh, NC 27695 upon returning from your trip.
