WHAT IS “TULIP” COVERAGE

TULIP (Tenants and Users Liability Insurance Policy) may be a solution for groups and organizations who desire to use NC State University facilities for major events and fund-raisers. The program was started through the University Risk Management and Insurance Association (URMIA) of which we belong to. This gives the user group a liability insurance purchasing option, to meet user University liability insurance requirements for large fund-raiser events and just as important, gives them their own liability insurance protection, given the reality that there is no immunity for anyone from liability exposures these days. The user group/organization can go online, complete the liability insurance application, and purchase direct from the insurer when qualified. The insurer will then e-send a certificate of insurance to the respective institution such as NCSU which is listed as an additional insured for the event or activity at hand.

We have enrolled NCSU as a facility member institution to the TULIP program. To be user-friendly, we have already advised the insurer of our specific institutional insurance requirements for user groups, thus the applicant organization need only complete the rest of the insurance application details for their respective premium quote and conduct their own purchasing decision.

TO APPLY FOR TULIP COVERAGE

Call IRM, 515-6124, 515-6123, 515-6122, or 515-6135 to obtain the institution users code. Then go to the TULIP website and register/apply for TULIP coverage inserting your information to register and the Institution code where needed.: http://urmia.bene-marc.com
