College/Department Insert Surveys
In order to assist NC State colleges, departments, and programs get data more specific
to their assessment needs, UPA will include "insert" surveys along
with the Graduating Senior (GSS) and Alumni surveys. An insert survey consists
of questions developed by an individual academic unit, and is answered by only
those students/alumni in/from that unit.
UPA:
- provides Associate Deans, Department Heads, and designated survey contacts
within each department complete information about inserts the semester before
the inserts will be administered
- provides assistance in designing an insert
- what questions to ask to get the desired information
- question wording
- question order
- response options
- etc.
- does all necessary programming
- administers the insert along with the campus-wide survey
- analyzes the data
- provides the college/department/program with the final data
and results. (Insert results will not be posted to the
UPA web site.)
Revising Your Insert: Information and Suggestions
Inserts included with the Graduating Senior Survey may be revised
every other year
(e.g., the same insert is used with the AY02-03 and AY03-04 GSS). Alumni Survey inserts
may be revised every time the survey is administered. For more information and suggestions about
