University Planning and Analysis
Surveys of Faculty/Staff
The Survey Research staff at University Planning & Analysis conducts the following faculty and staff surveys on a recurring basis:
Surveys of Faculty
- Faculty Well-Being Survey
Tenure track and non-tenure track faculty are surveyed about university image and vision, leadership, relationships with administration, diversity,
working relationships, support and professional development, review processes, pay and compensation, campus infrastructure, wellness,
work activities, and their overall satisfaction.
NC State likewise participates in the following national survey:
- Collaboration on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) Survey
The Harvard School of Graduate Education's COACHE Survey asks pre-tenured tenure track faculty at hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation about a range issues identified as critical to the success of early
faculty, including the tenure process, the nature of work, policy effectiveness, campus climate, and global satisfaction. Beginning in Fall 2011 COACHE will also survey tenured faculty on similar issues as appropriate to their rank. In addition, beginning in Fall 2011 UPA will locally administer a parallel version of the survey to non-tenure track faculty.
Surveys of Staff
- Staff Well-Being Survey
University staff are surveyed about working relationships, communication, leadership, university vision and direction, diversity,
work activities, support and professional development, performance evaluation, pay and compensation, campus infrastructure, campus activities, and their overall satisfaction.
