NC State is developing a faculty activity database that will include information about the teaching, research, extension and engagement, and other professional activities of our faculty. Links on this page are to collection and reporting functions, as well as documentation and descriptions.
The faculty activity database will be used to participate in the University of Delaware's national Measure of Out-of-Classroom Activity (MOCA) study. Beginning with the 2009-10 year, UNC-GA requires participation as a means to respond to a legislative request for faculty information.
We are committed to collecting data from existing databases at NC State everywhere possible. Information not in central existing databases must be entered by faculty in a web collection screen or collected by departments and transmitted to central collection.

Who must fill out the screen? The population is all tenured and tenure-track faculty, and non-tenure track faculty with 0.75 FTE or more. There are several exceptions to collection where a college or department has a system that collects information already. Where possible data for measures will be pulled from existing sources.
