DEGREES CONFERRED 1997-1998 -- NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY

This report on the 1997-1998 Degrees Conferred at North Carolina State University includes information sumamrized from the 1996-97 and 1997-98 Graduated Student Data Files(SDF) submitted to UNC-General Administration (UNC-GA). Semesters included are Summer 1 and Summer 2, 1997, with degrees conferred in August, Fall 1997, with graduation in December, and Spring 1998, with graduation in May.

The Graduated SDF is prepared each year by University Planning and Analysis from the Graduation Master File (also known as the "mouse" file) that is a part of the Registration and Records Student Systems.

Tables 1 through 6 describe degrees conferred by various breakdowns. Degrees conferred includes dual degrees earned by some students; this year there were 389 dual degrees awarded. Table 7 collapses the dual degrees to a count of degree recipients by only counting the highest degree awarded to that person. For example, an individual earning two degrees, one a Bachelors degree, and one a DVM degree, would count twice in Tables 1 through 6 and would only count once in Table 7 (the DVM degree would be counted).

Tables 1 through 7 are listed in frequency order -- the category with the highest count is listed first, followed by the second highest and so on.

Each table is contained in a separate file. Select the table(s) you want to view or print by clicking on the link(s) below.
