Subject: Leadership Team

I invite you to serve as the Leadership Team that will guide NC State's activities associated with the reaffirmation of its accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Your role will include:

• appointing committees as needed to prepare the required compliance certification and Quality Enhancement Plan.
• ensuring that these committees receive the staff and research support as may be needed.
• reviewing and approving the Compliance Certification and Quality Enhancement Plan, and submitting them to me for approval.
• organizing the site visit in spring 2004.

Provost Cooper will chair the Leadership Team, and Karen Helm will provide staff support. When I can be helpful, I will join you in an ex officio capacity. Although SACS has not yet established a calendar for this process, Karen has provided an approximate schedule (attached).

Thank you for taking on this important responsibility. Please help me use this process as leverage for improving the quality of students' educational experience at NC State.
