Institutional Accreditation
NC State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097; Telephone number 404-679-4500) to award associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. SACS accredits the university as a whole.

Substantive Change
SACS requires that the University notify or seek approval of substantive changes prior to implementation. Examples of substantive changes include new degree programs, new online offerings, off-campus sites, and joint or dual degree programs. NC State's Substantive Change Review Team reviews all new programs and recommends to the chancellor an appropriate action to take in regard to SACS policies.
